Standard BTPs pay semi-annual coupons. Accrued interest on MOT trades follows European government-bond conventions.

How BTP Coupon Payments Work — the mechanics
The coupon is on par. Premium bonds still pay that coupon; your yield is lower. Withholding tax for Italian residents is a separate, local-rule topic — check current legislation.
Many BTPs pay annually; some older or specific lines differ. Annual pay means more accrued swings around the coupon date than a semi-annual gilt.
Dirty price includes accrued. MOT quotes need the same clean/dirty care as anywhere else.
Retail issues may have extra payments defined in the prospectus (loyalty). Those are not the ordinary coupon.
